UK government to reintroduce two-year post-study work visa

1 November 2019

The UK government has announced plans to reintroduce the two-year post-study work visa for international students.

The new plans will be introduced from next year and mean that all international graduates will be offered a two-year work visa after graduating from a UK university. Under the current plans, graduates are allowed to look for work for only four months.

Gavin Williamson, the Secretary of State for Education, said: "The important contribution international students make to our country and universities is both cultural and economic. Their presence benefits Britain, which is why we’ve increased the period of time these students can remain in the UK after their studies."
