The SI-UK University Fair Online hosts a number of seminars designed to help international students learn as much as possible about studying in the UK.

Starting your UK Education in 2020

If you are worried about the UK university application process, what to study and where to do it, the first seminar of the day will go over the basics of studying in the UK ahead of September 2020 entry.

Raveena Balani is a British Council accredited education professional with four years experience in the teaching and higher education sector in Thailand and the UK.
 
Raveena attended the Assumption University of Thailand to study Marketing Communications before going on to Oxford University in 2016 to complete an MSc in Education. She now liaises with universities in the UK and runs marketing campaigns with the institutions to support student recruitment.

There are thousands of degree courses available to choose from in the UK and in this seminar, Elodie Sprenger of Southampton will discuss the best way to find the right one at the right university.

Elodie Sprenger is a Country Development Manager at Southampton and is responsible for UK International recruitment.

Managing Epidemics and Pandemics; Studying Public Health at Keele

Are you interested in how UK universities are leading the fight against global pandemics? Learn more about managing epidemics and pandemics from the Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Epidemiology at Keele.

Dr Ross Wilkie is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Epidemiology and is the lead for the Public Health programme at Keele University. Since 2015, he has led the public health syllabus within the Keele medical school and has developed the BSc (Hons) degree in the School for Primary, Community and Social Care, with links to Masters and Professional doctorate programmes and local public health providers.
 
Ross has a strong background as a clinician and researcher; he has an international reputation in the epidemiology of non-communicable disease and is currently a European research award holder.

Higher Education in the Pandemic: Next Steps

If you are looking for reassurance throughout this difficult period, SI-UK's UK Operations Director will be explaining in detail how hybrid learning is the future and Autumn 2020 entry will be going ahead as planned.

Guy has many years of varied experience as a professional in international education. Beginning as a lecturer and roles in academic administration and management (including as a University Admissions Turor), he was responsible for establishing and managing the academic infrastructure of the first embedded pathway college in the UK (HIBT, now HIC). After increasing involvement in international recruitment there and then with Kaplan, for who he was Dean of Business, Guy became Director for Africa for PFL where he was responsible for operations and offices spread across 3 countries in what was then the largest agency in Africa. Subequently, in various senior and leadership roles in international education, Guy lived and worked in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and most recently in China where he worked with Birmingham City University.

Rhian is the International Officer at Norwich University of the Arts. She is responsible for international recruitment within the UK, as well as international admissions, helping applicants with applications, interviews and visas. She also organises the International Arrivals Lounge for new students.
