The UK University Fair host a number of seminars designed to help international students learn as much as possible about studying in the UK.

An Introduction to Studying in the UK

If you are worried about the UK university application process, accommodation, what to study and where to do it, the first seminar of the day will go over the basics of studying in the UK.

Raveena Balani is a British Council accredited education professional with four years experience in the teaching and higher education sector in Thailand and the UK. Raveena attended the Assumption University of Thailand to study Marketing Communications before going on to Oxford University in 2016 to complete an MSc in Education. She now liaises with universities in the UK and runs marketing campaigns with the institutions to support student recruitment.

How to Write a Powerful Personal Statement

When applying to study in the UK, students will need to sell themselves by writing a personal statement which details why a university should offer you a place. One of our most popular seminars will take you through the dos and don’ts of personal statement writing for undergraduate study.

Robert Money attended Eton College before going on to Oxford to read Classics, where he graduated with an MA. Having subsequently studied law at Middle Temple he worked for Barclays Bank and a number of education related companies before joining SI-UK.

He now specialises in preparing high-calibre candidates for entry into Oxford and Cambridge, as well as providing a general service helping international students get into universities and MBA providers across the UK.

Hints and Tips on the IELTS Test

To study at a UK university, a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 is generally needed. In this special seminar on the International English Language Testing System, learn more about the IELTS test and how you can improve your score.

Emily holds a first-class Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict studies from the University of Sydney as well as an undergraduate degree in European politics and languages. She began teaching in Rome for the British Council and has experience of teaching in different language schools in both Italy and London. She started working for SI-UK in 2017 and has since become the senior IELTS teacher.

The Tier 4 Visa Application Process: Documents and Requirements

Studying in the UK as an international student means securing a Tier 4 visa from the Home Office. This seminar will go through the documents required to successfully apply and how much it will cost.

Originally from China, Kiki studied Business at both undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Westminster, London. She have extensive experience in the UK education sector and has advised large numbers of international students on their study options as well as student visas. Kiki is also a immigration and visa advisor registered under the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC), UK Home Office.

January UK university entry is perfect for international students who needed more time to complete pre-university study, apply for funding or arrange their visa.

Awatif studied Arts in Tourism at the European Federation of Schools Geneva Accreditation before moving to London in 2010 to study an MBA in International Business at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Originally from Morocco, she is fluent in Arabic, French and English. Awatif is now working as an Education Consultant at SI-UK and is focussed on helping and recruiting international students to study in the UK.

Adiya is a University of Greenwich business psychology graduate (1st class honours) who contributed positivley to her university community by working for student wellbeing as an NUS Delegate, Senior Student Ambassador and International Students Officer. As an International Student Officer, Adiya was awarded a certificate for the best part-time officer, where she represented the views and opinions of students from over 140 countries. Adiya joined SI-UK in 2018 as an Education Consultant and she is now responsible for the Russian-speaking market.

Oliver graduated from the University of Bath with a first-class degree in Politics with Economics. He played an active role in university admissions and careers services prior to joining SI-UK. Now a Business Development Manager, he also advises international students on applications to UK universities, including some of the top business schools.
