About Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education
Established in 2001 and funded by the Al-Maktoum Foundation, Alm College is an independent and internationally recognised centre for Higher Education. Its courses are specialised and unique to Scotland, offering students the opportunity to experience education within a multicultural environment.
The College offer two new Higher National courses, HNC/HND in Business and HNC/Diploma in Management & Leadership. Both courses are SCQF credit-rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and can lead directly to a corresponding degree at Abertay University.
Other subjects on offer are Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Islamic Economics & Finance.
About Aston University
Aston University is lively, welcoming and cosmopolitan campus based university situated in the centre of Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. About Birmingham City University
24,000 students from over 80 countries are enrolled at Birmingham City University, making it an exciting and diverse place to study. A significant proportion of undergraduate courses enjoy professional accreditation, including Accountancy, Acting, Architecture, Education, Engineering, Law, Marketing, Nursing, Radiography and Social Work. Keele University was the first new UK university of the 20th century and was founded to promote interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary scholarship. Newcastle University was granted university status in 1963 and currently has just over 20,000 students enrolled, of which 4,000 are international. The University is in the north-east of England and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities.
Newcastle University is considered one of the top 150 universities in the world by QS and overall satisfaction at the University is at 91%, one of the highest scores in the country. A survey from Graduate Destinations also showed 94% of Newcastle University leavers were in employment or further study six months after graduating.
As a result of its origins as the School of Medicine and Surgery, one of Newcastle’s main strengths remains medicine. SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) is a constituent of the University of London specialising in the arts, humanities, languages, cultures, law and social sciences concerning Asia, Africa, the Near East and the Middle East. About University of Southampton
The University of Southampton is situated in the city of Southampton, on the south coast of England. It is a founding member of the Russell Group and Worldwide Universities Network, and currently has around 23,000 students enrolled, of which 2,000 are international from more than 100 different countries.
The University is known for being research-intensive and has the only Engineering faculty in the UK to receive the highest rating (5*) across all disciplines in the latest Research Excellence Framework. Southampton is cited as the UK’s leading university for Engineering.
The University of Southampton places great emphasis on inter-disciplinary cooperation and collaboration with industry. Employers are often invited to Open Career Days on campus, while the Southampton Careers Service offers free advice to all University of Southampton students for up to three years after graduation.
About University of Strathclyde
The University of Strathclyde was formally awarded university status in 1964 and currently has almost 23,000 students enrolled from 100 countries on a single campus in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. Strathclyde was awarded University of the Year in 2012 and Entrepreneurial University of the Year in 2013 by Times Higher Education.
The University is known both for its business school and close links with industry. Strathclyde is one of only 55 universities in the world that is ‘triple accredited’ by all three major bodies, and they recently opened another campus near Delhi. Many courses, such as product design and innovation or international business with modern languages, have been specifically designed with industry experts. The engineering faculty is the biggest in Scotland and has the largest electrical power engineering and energy research facility in Europe.
About University of Sunderland
The University of Sunderland was founded in 1901 as Sunderland Technical College, and was awarded university status in 1992. It has four campuses: two in Sunderland on the northeast coast of England, one in London, which is used for teaching business, tourism and nursing degrees, and a new development in Hong Kong. In 2018, the University was named as one of only five new medical schools in the UK, established to address the regional imbalance of medical education places across England and to widen access to the medical profession. The first cohort of students will join the School of Medicine in September 2019.
The University of Sunderland has close links with business and industry, as well as a close working relationship with many leading blue-chip companies. Many take work placements with such companies as part of a degree, with links being particularly strong in engineering and media.
In their feedback from the Teaching Excellence Framework, assessors highlighted the University’s embedded professional practice and the tangible contribution made by business and industrial partners to programme content.
About Swansea University
Swansea University is based in Ssouth Wales and currently has around 20,000 students enrolled across two campuses. Our Singleton Park campus was established in 1920 and is home to the Swansea University Medical School, College of Human and Health Sciences, College or Arts and Humanities, and the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. Our Bay Campus opened in 2015 and is home for our College of Engineering, School of Management, and Computer Science.
Our strengths lie within the science subjects, but are strongly supported by our humanities subjects, which are globally recognised. We are ranked in the Top 30 institutions in the UK (The Times, 2019), and the Top 15 for Graduate Employment. We have an excellent 97% employment record.

About University of Central Lancashire
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is based in Preston, in the north west of the UK. In addition to main city centre campus, it has facilities in Burnley, Westlakes in Cumbria and Llangollen Outdoor Centre in North Wales. 24,000 students from 100 different countries are enrolled, making it one of the largest student bodies in the country.
UCLan became the first modern university to be named in the QS World Rankings in 2010, and has over 400 undergraduate and 200 postgraduate courses available. The University has been a leader in emerging disciplines such as Fashion and Forensic Science, as well as newer additions such as Dentistry and Aerospace Engineering.
The University has a reputation for scientific research and utilises two observatories in the UK and one in Africa in order to conduct astrophysics research with NASA, as well as being a partner in a nanotechnology research team in China.
