About Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education
Established in 2001 and funded by the Al-Maktoum Foundation, Alm College is an independent and internationally recognised centre for Higher Education. Its courses are specialised and unique to Scotland, offering students the opportunity to experience education within a multicultural environment.
The College offer two new Higher National courses, HNC/HND in Business and HNC/Diploma in Management & Leadership. Both courses are SCQF credit-rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and can lead directly to a corresponding degree at Abertay University.
Other subjects on offer are Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Islamic Economics & Finance.
About Aston University
Aston University is lively, welcoming and cosmopolitan campus based university situated in the centre of Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. It was founded in 1895 and in 1966, received the Royal Charter to be a University from Queen Elizabeth II. About Bath Spa University
Bath Spa University focuses primarily on arts and humanities subjects and was founded in its most original form in 1852 before officially becoming a university in 2005. Bath Spa has several campuses in and around the city, with the main centre being Newton Park, completed in 2014, which features some of the best digital media related teaching facilities in the UK.
Bath Spa University is home to just over 7,500 students from over 40 different countries. This relatively small size means that Bath Spa remains a personal and intimate university with strong focus on teaching and student welfare. Falmouth University is a multi-arts university located on the south-west coastline of England, in Cornwall. Alongside traditional fine art subjects, it now offers degrees in performance, advertising, architecture and marketing.
Falmouth has seen significant redevelopment and investment in recent years and a new Media Centre covering Photography and Animation being opened in 2007. The University of Surrey is a campus university located in the town of Guildford in the southeast of England. The University has great connections to London, just 35 minutes away by train. Swansea University is based in Ssouth Wales and currently has around 20,000 students enrolled across two campuses. About The London Film School
The London Film School was founded in 1956 and offers only postgraduate film programmes. LFS is one of only three institutions accredited as a Skillset Film Academy, approved by the UK film industry training body as a “centre of excellence”. The London Film School is the world’s most international film school with 70% of its students from more than 60 different countries.
Students participate in the making of six compulsory films over two years, five structured exercises and one graduation project, all at an industrial level. They create a “Work and Research Journal” as the written component of the MA. Film exercises in year one are shot on 16mm and digital, while second year exercises are on 35mm and digital on built sets and locations. Students are taught by working UK filmmakers. Films are made on built sets, shot on professional level cameras, recorded on Nagra V, edited on Avid Composer and given a professional dub in Soho.
Throughout each 12 week term the school produces around 60 films and 180 per year in total.
