Businesses formed from University of Aberdeen research win awards

17 February 2016

The Life Science ‘Oscars’ took place last week and two companies formed from University of Aberdeen research had cause to celebrate.

Novabiotics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the design and development of first-in-class anti-infectives for difficult-to-treat, medically unmet diseases, and Ripptide Pharma, who developed a revolutionary new method for creating a new class of therapeutic drugs, both won awards.

Dr Ann Lewendon from the University of Aberdeen’s Research & Innovation department said: “I’m delighted for both our winners tonight. These awards celebrate Scotland’s most dynamic life sciences companies, so it is testament to the hard work and expertise of both the teams that they’ve been recognised by their peers.
