EU student funding continued for 2020-21

9 September 2019

The UK government has confirmed that EU students starting courses in the 2020-21 academic year at universities in England will continue to be charged the same fees as English students and will remain eligible to receive loans to cover their tuition fee for the duration of their courses.

The decision means EU students applying for an undergraduate or master’s course at an English university or further education institution in 2020 will continue to have access to student loans and grants, even if the course concludes after the UK’s exit from the EU.

Universities Minister Chris Skidmore said: "We value the important contribution that international students, including those from the EU, make to our universities and it is a testament to our world-leading higher education system that so many students from abroad choose to come and study here."
