Abertay University is perhaps best known for its strong focus on computer games and art design. It is the only UK university with official accreditation in both these fields, and has a partnership with Peking University in China for games. The University is also academically strong in the areas of IT, as well as business, economics and biotechnology.
Abertay is a campus University based in Dundee in eastern Scotland with over 4,000 students enrolled. Many of the courses and buildings are modern, with a high-tech approach to learning common throughout the five schools and one institute which act as departments and faculties for the University. It also features numerous specialist departments in areas such as wood technology, urban water systems and bioinformatics. Abertay University has built up many strong industrial links with companies such as Sony, Microsoft, Rare and Codemasters.
Aberystwyth University was founded in 1872 and was the first university in Wales. Aberystwyth University is the only university in the UK to offer every student a year’s work placement as part of their degree, leading to a better than average employability level, and there are currently 9,500 students enrolled.
Aberystwyth has one of the largest graduate schools for international relations in the world, with over 150 Master’s and PhD students enrolled. The Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences, which is shared with Bangor University, is a world class research and education centre researching issues including sustainable land use, climate change and the security of food and water supplies. It is also home to one of the five UK copyright libraries, the National Library of Wales, and has the largest Arts Centre in Wales.

Aston University is lively, welcoming and cosmopolitan campus based university situated in the centre of Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. The University Foundation Programme has come to be established as one of the oldest and most well respected foundation courses in the UK, providing an entry level qualification for undergraduate study accepted by over 95 UK universities. The course is designed for international students who have completed high school and acts a bridging and entry level course for those who wish to go on to undergraduate study at a UK university.
Unlike the two year A-Level course, the UFP is completed over one year and currently has two intakes: September – June or January – August of the same year. Both intakes however allow the student to apply to start university the following academic year. Bath Spa University focuses primarily on arts and humanities subjects and was founded in its most original form in 1852 before officially becoming a university in 2005. The University of Bedfordshire is based in both Luton and Bedford, two large towns north of London. The University also has two campuses for nursing and midwifery degrees at Butterfield Park on the outskirts of Luton, and at the Buckinghamshire campus at Oxford House in Aylesbury. The University of Sunderland was founded in 1901 as Sunderland Technical College, and was awarded university status in 1992. The University of Sussex was founded in 1961 and is located in Brighton on the south coast of England. It is the only UK university located in a National Park.
The University of Sussex is ranked the 160th best university in the world by Times Higher Education, and has a number of subjects ranked in the global top 100, including business and economics, social sciences, psychology and law.
In the National Student Survey, 82% of Sussex students confirmed they are happy with their experience, whilst Brighton was ranked the happiest city in England for students, with 93% of University of Sussex and University of Brighton students surveyed saying they’re ‘very happy’ with their education and city life.
Swansea University is based in Ssouth Wales and currently has around 20,000 students enrolled across two campuses. The Singleton Park campus was established in 1920 and is home to the Swansea University Medical School, College of Human and Health Sciences, College or Arts and Humanities, and the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. The Bay Campus opened in 2015 and is home to the College of Engineering, School of Management, and Computer Science.
Traditional strengths lie within the science subjects, but are strongly supported by humanities subjects, which are globally recognised. Swansea are ranked in the top 15 for Graduate Employment with an excellent 97% employment record.
Swansea also have one of the best student experiences in the UK according to its students, who consistently vote the University in the top 10 in the National Student Survey and WhatUni. Teesside University was awarded full university status in 1992 and is situated in Middlesbrough in the north-east of England. 20,000 full and prt-time students are currently enrolled and it was the first modern university to win a Times Higher Education Award. Since 1992, it has won nine National Teaching Fellowships for excellence in teaching quality. Teesside University was awarded The Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2013 for outstanding work in the field of enterprise and business engagement.
The University is strong in the areas of forensic science, sport and exercise, computer games design and animation. Many of these are accredited by professional bodies. Teesside University supports graduates in finding employment for at least two years after they leave, and many courses include paid work placements as part of the degree.
The London Film School was founded in 1956 and offers only postgraduate film programmes. LFS is one of only three institutions accredited as a Skillset Film Academy, approved by the UK film industry training body as a “centre of excellence”. The London Film School is the world’s most international film school with 70% of its students from more than 60 different countries.
Students participate in the making of six compulsory films over two years, five structured exercises and one graduation project, all at an industrial level. They create a “Work and Research Journal” as the written component of the MA. Film exercises in year one are shot on 16mm and digital, while second year exercises are on 35mm and digital on built sets and locations. Students are taught by working UK filmmakers. Films are made on built sets, shot on professional level cameras, recorded on Nagra V, edited on Avid Composer and given a professional dub in Soho.
Throughout each 12 week term the school produces around 60 films and 180 per year in total.

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is based in Swansea and was formed in 2010, making it one of the youngest universities in the UK. The University of Law is one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education. Its origins can be traced back to 1876 with the formation of the leading tutorial firm Gibson & Weldon, and later on, with the establishment of The Law Society School of Law. The University of Warwick is a British campus university located on the outskirts of Coventry and is regarded as one of the country's leading institutions. The University is made up of the Faculty of Arts, Medicine, Science and Social Sciences, and was recently ranked in the top 10 of the world’s youngest universities, and as the leading university of its kind in the UK. West London College is a further and higher education college which provides training and development for over 10,000 students.

UWE Bristol is a thriving, modern university, offering a wide range of highly respected courses and employment-enhancing opportunities. The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) was formed in August 2007 by the merging of the University of Paisley with Bell College. 16,000 students are currently enrolled and it is the largest modern university in Scotland, spread across four campuses in Ayr, Dumfries, Hamilton and Paisley.
The University has six academic schools and, following the last National Student Survey, 84% of students were happy with UWS. Chemical, Process and Energy Engineering, Chemistry, Cinematics & Photography and Civil Engineering were also top in the Scottish sector for overall satisfaction.
The University of the West Scotland is one of Scotland's most vocational higher education institutions, boasting strong links with industrial and commercial partners. Students can take the option of a year's paid work placement as part of many degrees. Computing is a key strength, now formally acknowledged by an excellent teaching assessment. The institution also has Scotland’s largest school of health, nursing and midwifery.
The University of Westminster was formed from the first polytechnic in Britain, and became a full university in 1992. It is spread over four campuses, three of which are in central London. There are more than 20,000 students from 150 countries currently enrolled on a variety of programmes ranging from undergraduate and postgraduate courses to tailored professional programmes and short courses.
Subjects maintain a strong vocational focus, with longer modules including work-based skills and integration with practical activity. Undergraduates are able to conduct research during their degree and the University has achieved fame for its media studies and fashion degrees, both of which are rated as being some of the best in the world. Having celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2013, Westminster continues to invest heavily in all facilities from accommodation to the restoration of one of the first cinemas in Britain within the Regent Campus.
Wiltshire College offers Higher National Certificates, Higher National Diplomas, Foundation and Full Honour degrees to over 3,300 full-time, 6,000 part-time and 800 university level students. Wiltshire College is spread across four campuses in Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge.
Most international students are based at the Salisbury campus, but certain courses such as Motorsport Engineering see students study elsewhere such as Lackham House. The University of Winchester is located close to the south coast of the UK in the scenic South Downs. A cathedral city, Winchester achieved university status in 2008 and currently has around 7,500 students enrolled.
Following the National Student Survey, Winchester ranked 4th in England for overall satisfaction. Rated by final year undergraduate students, there is 100% overall satisfaction in American Studies, Archaeology, Business Management, Choreography and Dance, Digital Media Design, Digital Media Development, Education Studies (Early Childhood), Event Management, Health Community and Social Care Studies, History and the Medieval World, History and the Modern World, Media Production, Media Studies, and Politics and Global Studies.

Based on the University of Worcester campus, the University of Worcester International College (UWIC) provides first year, university foundation and pre-masters pathway programmes for international students who want to study an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the UK but are not currently eligible for direct entry.
Students are able to choose from a number of different pathway courses, depending on the subject area and level of course required, and become university students with access to all campus facilities from their first day of study. Successful students then automatically progress onto the relevant undergraduate or postgraduate in their second year.
Undergraduate pathway subject areas include accountancy and finance, art and design and creative media, business, law, marketing, social science, science and health and sport and exercise science. Our premasters business programme allows progression onto areas of study such as business psychology, business administration, international management, finance, marketing and human resource management.
Writtle University College was established in 1893 and has been producing leaders in the land-based industries and organisations for over 120 years. There are currently 1,000 Higher Education students enrolled at Writtle, with around 80 of those from international countries. Over 40 nationalities are represented at Writtle.
It has a well established international reputation and many of its past students are working in senior positions around the world. Based across a beautifully landscaped 220 hectare campus, facilities include a farm, equine resources, animal therapy barn, scientific laboratories, library, accommodation and design studios.

York St John University descends from two Anglican teacher training colleges, which were founded in York in 1841 (for men) and 1846 (for women). It was awarded university status in 2006 and is located on a single campus in the historic city of York. It currently has around 6,500 students enrolled.
As a result of the University’s continuing religious and teaching traditions, theology, nursing, life sciences and education are the most popular and well known subjects. The Faculty of Arts performs well nationally and was recently awarded national centre for excellence status in creativity. The campus itself has recently finished a £91 million investment with further works planned.
